Nikon D300S CYBER MONDAY, Fantastic Camera!!
I still own my Nikon D60 but decided to move up to a D300s after researching online at several of my forums and the Nikon website. Since it's arrival, I have been extremely impressed with the the build quality,image quality and flexibility in control of the image making process. In fact the camera is extremely complex and does require a steep learning curve to master. The camera can still be set up as a "point and shoot" for family snapshots but allows many creative image controls for the professional in all of us. Just a great camera!!

The D300s is the best camera in the DX format available today. The camera is extremely accurate and fast in autofocus mode and shoots a fast 6 fps. Compared to D90 or lower, this model focuses VERY fast. Sometime with my D90 I literally watch it go into and out of focus as its trying to lock on the object. The D300s just blasts into focus as quick as can be.
Two cards, one CF, one SDHC make recording in both RAW/NEF and JPEG much easier to manage (recording one format to one card, the other to the other card, you get to pick). And don't worry if do not have a CF card reader, the included USB cable makes connecting it to your PC or Mac as ease as connecting the USB to the camera and to the PC/Mac-no reader necessary.

Nikon D300s BLACK FRIDAY
Nikon D300s BLACK FRIDAY, Great Camera, Very Pleased
I received this camera about a week or two ago and have so far been very pleased. I owned a D40x for the longest time and that was a wonderful intro DSLR (and have yet to really see the same quality in the D3000 or D5000 even though they may have more features). After being only ok'd by the D90 which lasted a few weeks before encountering the fatal F-- Error this camera has been very solid and without a hint of an issue.
The camera is a bit heavier, but you're moving into a more solid body compared to the intros and and even the middle grade D90. The ability to use remote flashes and take easily 6fps shots without thinking is wonderful. The 3D tracking system if you adjust the autofocus refresh time is amazing. This is the first camera that I've been wow'd with in a long time. I considered Canon's 50d and even looked highly at the 7d, but the D300s just felt like it was easier to control and easier to work with overall.

Camera is excellent. Heavier than the D70 I have, but very manageable. Complex camera, you need to spend a lot of time learning the features and reading the manual.
